The typical journey
Our average ACT student starts at a 22 — the 69th percentile — and finishes at a 28, the 90th percentile. On the SAT, a typical start of 1210 ends at 1400, clearing the 1350 line that separates “below elite” from the top 10%.
That’s the typical journey, not the ceiling. Every year we also help students earn perfect and near-perfect scores on the SAT and ACT.
How that compares to typical test prep
Published research puts the typical retest-with-preparation gain at about +1.4 ACT points (Schiel & Valiga, 2014) and roughly +30 SAT points (Briggs, 2009). Our students average about 4× that.
